This Sunday, Voce will be collaborating with the choirs from Immanuel Congregational Church and Beth El Temple in West Hartford to perform Stravinsky’s “Symphony of Psalms” among other pieces. This will be my first opportunity to perform this piece and I am very excited to be singing! The concert is at 7pm at Beth El Temple and tickets are $15. See you there.
This Saturday will be our final Voce concert for the season. “Life Is a Beach” includes music inspired by water, from Mendelssohn to Gjeillo, Chatman to Esenvalds. Four of my high school students will be joining Voce for a couple pieces, and the choir from UConn will be doing a set. It has been wonderful singing with this group this year, we are excited to close out the season with what is sure to be a wonderful evening. This Saturday, I will be performing with Voce for our second concert of the season, East Meets West. The Hartford-based ensemble will be singing several American songs as a continuation of the season’s theme, “Full Circle.” This concert features pieces by Copland, Gershwin, Whitacre, Lauridsen and more.
