This Monday, at 8pm, I will be singing in a brief concert under the direction of Matthew Cramer, a friend and colleague of mine in Hartford. This concert, entitled “When lights begin to show,” is a conducting recital for Matt as he prepares graduate applications. It has been a lot of fun to sing under him, and will surely be a nice concert, featuring music by Randall Thompson, Herbert Howells, Eric Whitacre, Colin Britt, and Johannes Brahms. The concert is located at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church (285 Church St. Hartford) and is free and open to all.
Concert: Life Is a Beach
This Saturday will be our final Voce concert for the season. “Life Is a Beach” includes music inspired by water, from Mendelssohn to Gjeillo, Chatman to Esenvalds. Four of my high school students will be joining Voce for a couple pieces, and the choir from UConn will be doing a set. It has been wonderful singing with this group this year, we are excited to close out the season with what is sure to be a wonderful evening. Join us at Immanuel Congregational Church this Saturday at 7:30pm. Tickets can be purchased at voceinc.org.
