This coming Saturday, the Voices of Hope will present their concert, “On a Mission.” This concert represents the work of the past 12-weeks – one “quarter” in the prison’s academic system. During this quarter, we have explored questions about why we sing and what our mission is. We are excited to share what choir means to us, as well as offer several great pieces for an audience of 100 incarcerated women as well as 15 outside guests. Check out our program for this concert below:
This coming Saturday, I am pleased to join my colleague Katherine Chan in conducting a concert in commemoration of the 15th anniversary of September 11. We have the honor of working with PopUp Choir, a unique mixed-voice ensemble that comes together for a single day’s performance. Here are the details… hope to see you there!

I’m very excited to share that The Academy Chorale’s spring concert is next Wednesday, May 13 at 7pm at St. Patrick-St. Anthony’s Church. The concert’s theme is “Love Lost, Love Sought, Love Won,” and we will be presenting music from Thomas Morley to Paul Christiansen to Ola Gjeilo to Moses Hogan. My students have worked especially hard this year, as this concert is primarily a cappella and includes music in 6 different languages from 9 different countries! Please plan to join us for this special evening.
