Concert: Symphony of Psalms

This Sunday, Voce will be collaborating with the choirs from Immanuel Congregational Church and Beth El Temple in West Hartford to perform Stravinsky’s “Symphony of Psalms” among other pieces.  This will be my first opportunity to perform this piece and I am very excited to be singing!  The concert is at 7pm at Beth El Temple and tickets are $15.  See you there.

Chorale Concert Success

Many people have asked about May 14th’s Chorale Spring Concert, so I wanted to post an excerpt to share!  The students sang beautifully and I could not be more proud.  The year’s hard work showed as they performed with musicality and professionalism.  They sang in many different languages (many of them for the first time!) and got to know pieces from all times and places.  See for yourself (more to come on my video page at a later date!):

GHAA Chorale Spring Concert

One week from today, the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Chorale (conducted by yours truly) will be presenting their spring concert!  The Academy Chorale, started last year by dear friend and conducting colleague Arianne Abela, is comprised of about 35 students (10th-12th grade) who are “majoring” in voice at the Academy.  This is the first year the Academy has ever had a mixed (SATB) ensemble, and I am thrilled to be a part of building this choral program!  The kids have worked very hard and are excited to share our music with you next week.  The concert will also feature a set by the Academy Classical Winds and a piece by the Classical Strings.  Here are the details:
