Yale ISM Congregations Project 2013
This past week was rich with conversation about worship, music, and the arts. For the second year in a row, I served as a student reporter for the Congregations Project that the Yale Institute of Sacred Music hosts each summer. This summer seminar brings together clergy, musicians, and laypeople from congregations all across the country to share resources. The theme this year, “Hark the Glad Sound,” entertained questions about evangelism and outreach.
Adventures in Japan and Singapore
The last two weeks have been spent touring Japan and Singapore with Yale’s Schola Cantorum and baroque orchestra Juilliard 415, performing Bach’s Mass in B Minor under Masaaki Suzuki. It has been such a gift to sing with this group during the last two years, and I couldn’t have asked for a better end to my tenure with this group than singing Bach with Suzuki in his home country.
